Courses

HPHT Wells

Who Should Attend:

Geologists, Geophysicists, Petroleum and Drilling Engineers. Some wellsite or operations experience and a basic knowledge of geology are beneficial for this course.

Objectives:

(This course is also suitable for the IWCF Well Control – Level 5)

To explore the challenges of drilling and evaluating HPHT wells. Students will learn about well planning processes, the drilling and geological challenges presented by HPHT wells and explore pore pressure detection processes, rock fracture pressure and ECD requirements and well control procedures. Rig types and casing design methods will be explored.
